When I stood for this office, I set out seven priorities for what this Society could achieve over the term ahead. Delivering on them starts with structure, and over recent months we have put in place nine committees and presidential groups, each one built to carry a specific part of that work forward.

These committees are empowered to deliver real impact to our Society and I am genuinely excited by the breadth and depth of knowledge and expertise present within them. I am pleased to announce we have restructured and modernised the committees under the leadership of several ongoing chairs who already know the ground well, including Dr Roger Estephan, Professor Marcelo Sanchez, Professor John McCartney and Professor Mona Badr El-Din who all continue in the roles they held. Alongside them, fresh faces are stepping in with new ideas and new energy: Professor Guillermo A. Narsilio, Dr.-Ing. Marwan Alzaylaie, Professor Han-Lin Wang, Professor Jovan Br. Papić and Mrs Bridget Nana Ama Lokoe all take up new chairs this term.

I look forward to working closely with our committees over the term ahead and encourage all ISSMGE members to engage and contribute to the vital work they undertake.
